Oct 25, 2010 · It is a 3970010 four bolt block which sounds like it was produced from 69-79. It appears to be a higher nickel block as it has the 010 casted behind the timing chain cover and the back of the block above the crankshaft flywheel flange. Be nice to know what year it was casted. I have 3 E 17 on the right side between the frost plugs. This 69 350 block has casting number 3970010 with an E (May) 2 1969 casting date. All cylinders are standard bore. The block was originally installed in a big 1969 Chevrolet truck. The suffix code stamped on the deck pad is WM. No V.I.N. stamping anywhere on the block.Mar 22, 2005 · i was under the impression that this particular block casting 3970010 was some how stonger than other blocks high nickel or not. most of the casting number index sites show this number as "Heavy duty truck block hi perf ECT" they both came from circle track cars there must be some reason they were prefered not just for the nickel and tin content. am i incorrect.

I have found Four numbers. 3970010 along with "hecho en mexico" on the back drivers side. 254 on the back passenger side. 010 on the drivers side in front of the oil filter. and the engine code is "MK01800."What year is a 350 Chevy engine with casting 3970010 and 15y146329?
